It is rare to find a sport, that even at the international level, doesn’t have referees and instead relies on the integrity of it’s athletes. Players are forced to communicate, listen, compromise, and be honest with each other. The beauty of ultimate is that players can maintain a competitive and elite level of play, yet still have the ability to communicate with each other and uphold the spirit of the game. Spirit of the game to me is the high fives after points, the spirit circles after games, the conversations after a call is made, and the cheers. Sharing their knowledge of the game and coaching me to where I am today. They pushed me to become a better player every time I step on the field. I\u2019ve come so far from hoping before I throw to putting up full field hucks and I owe it all to my coaches.
\nWhat does Spirit of the Game means to you? \/ Qu’est-ce que l’Esprit du jeu veut dire pour toi?:<\/strong> To me, spirit of the game means being respectful towards all the players on the field. It means listening to what others have to say when a call is being made, high-fiving the other team when they score or don\u2019t score a point, or just having fun and making new friends from across the country.<\/p>\n
